Health Educator, Selah Raines from the WVU Family Nutrition Program, which is supported by SNAP-Ed, provided a nutrition lesson and fruit smoothie samples for tasting, along with recipes and tip sheets for families. DTE Energy partnered with Mountaineer Food Bank to provide squash, sweet potatoes, pears, apples, oranges, and mangoes. Students were gifted a large sling bag and left the market laden with fruit to share at home. Principal Wine, LBE staff, students, and families would like to thank Braxton County Community in Schools Coordinators, DTE Energy, Mountaineer Food Bank, the WVU Family Nutrition Program, and Ms. Raines for making this possible.
