Tomorrow, November, 5th is the General Election. There will be no schools on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Students will resume a regular schedule on Wednesday, November 6th.
Davis Elementary held its annual Halloween Parade yesterday on Halloween. We changed things up though with our new addition of having trick-or-treat in the park. It was a great event for all of our Dragons, Ghouls, Goblins, and Students.
As we prepare for our Veterans Day program. We would like to ensure that all of our students and families have an opportunity to recognize those loved ones who have served or are serving our country.

Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school! This is a great opportunity to connect with your child over the thrill of bringing home new books to dive into again and again. Studies show that kids read more when they choose books for themselves. And fostering a love of independent reading leads to a wide variety of benefits—including academic success and improved mental health.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Book Fair: Our fair begins Monday, October 28th and ends Friday November 1. Monday will be simply an introduction to the books and students will fill out their wish lists to bring home. Please do not send any money with your child on Monday. Students will bring a Scholastic Flyer home on Friday October 25th to share with you. Students will then be allowed to bring money beginning Tuesday- Friday to shop their favorite books. We accept cash, checks (made out to Davis Elementary), eWallet, Gift Certificates, Credit Cards, Apple and Google Pay. We are required to add 7% tax to each item purchased at school through Scholastic. It will be a great time this Friday at the Braxton County Eagles Football game. Be sure to come out and support the eagles as well as our Dragons who scored mastery or above on their GSA last year.
Good Morning Davis Dragon Families! On Wednesday, October 30th Davis Elementary will be holding its annual Title 1 meeting in conjunction with 1st 9 weeks Parent/Teacher Conferences. The Title 1 meeting will begin at 5:00 pm, Parent/Teacher Conferences will be from 4:00-6:00 pm. Please call the school to schedule a time to meet with your students teacher(s).

Just a friendly reminder that Davis Elementary PTO will have a meeting this evening, September 19th starting at 4:00 pm in the Davis Cafeteria. There will be a volunteer training at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria. This training is for anyone who will be wanting to be able to participate and help during the school day as well.
