Davis Elementary will host a Town Hall meeting at the school on February 9, 2023. The meeting will begin at 4:00pm in the school gym. The issues to be addressed at the town hall meeting include but are not limited to: Parent Involvement and Community Involvement; the Learning Environment, Student Engagement, Attendance, Supports for At-Risk Students, Curricular Offerings, Resources and the Capacity for School Improvement. We hope to see you there as this is part of our Local School Improvement Council efforts for the 2022-2023 school year at Davis Elementary. This is a reminder that there will be NO school for Braxton County students on Tuesday, January 17th due to our school calendar’s scheduled staff training day. We look forward to seeing our students back at school on Wednesday, January 18th this week. Wednesday, January 18th is also the due date for our Hart’s Pro Hardware coloring contest. Tuesday, December 20th will be our DES Holiday Music Programs. Prek-2nd Grades will be @ 9:00 a.m. 3rd-5th Grades will be @ 10:00 a.m. The programs will take place in our gymnasium and parents/family are welcome to attend. In order to make access easier, parents will be permitted to use the entrance up on the hill. A staff member will be there to let you in. Students may be signed out in the classroom following the programs. Thank you!

Davis Elementary School Open House will be on Monday, August 15th from 3:30-5:30 pm. Come out to see your classroom, visit the school, and meet the staff. Stop by to see all of our resources and get placed in a drawing for a door prize. :) We are excited for our upcoming 2022-2023 school year and can't wait to have our Dragons back with us!

Davis Elementary School collaborates with Melinda Francis from the West Virginia Department of Education, Office of Child Nutrition for a microgreens taste testing. Students had an opportunity to taste test radish and sunflower microgreens. Gassaway Mayor Richard Roach visited the school and participated in the microgreens taste testing. Also featured in the photos with Gassaway Mayor Mr. Roach is Davis Elementary Principal Mrs. Minney and featured in the photo with Melinda Francis is Davis Elementary Health and PE teacher, Michele Winemiller.

West Virginia Bureau for Public Health Legislative Rule
Good Morning, In partnership with the WVDE and Maverick Health, BCS is excited to be offering free Covid testing at Braxton County High School on 12/30/21 from 7:30am-1:30pm.  The clinic will be a drive-thru clinic.  Students and staff are priority for testing, but family members and community members are also able to test free. The test is a saliva sample PCR test with an estimated 24-hour turnaround time.
